1. Home team to pay for all games. 2. 'Blackball' Playing Rules to be played, a copy of which must be on display. 3. Fees to be payed by all teams are:- ▪Team Registration to League . . . . . . . . . . . £12.00 Old teams, £30.00 New teams ▪Player Registration. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . £2.00 each ▪Cup Competitions run by the League . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . £5.00 each ▪Captains Cup, Singles & Doubles Entry fees. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . £1.50 each Failure to pay these fees by the December meeting will eliminate the team from the League. 4. Captains of the WINNING teams are responsible for telephoning the result to the Secretary before 11.30 pm on the night of the match or between 09.00 am and 12 noon on the following day, AND sending the match card to reach the Secretary in the Wednesday postal delivery. If the winning team misses BOTH deadlines for the same match, they WILL NOT be awarded any points for that match. Any points won by the losing team will be awarded. 5. Fines will be imposed for:- ▪Team wishing to play in the League but not attending the AGM. . . . . . . .£5.00 fine ▪Not attending the monthly meeting. . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . £2.00 fine ▪Failing to telephone the result to the Secretary by the deadline . . . . . . .£2.00 fine ▪Failing to send the match card to the Secretary by the deadline . . . . . . .£2.00 fine 6. Each team in the League MUST enter a team in the 3 Cup Competitions run by the League. Town Singles and Town Doubles competitions are voluntary. 7. Only Captains OR their Vice-Captains may take part in any vote taken at a monthly meeting. Every team playing in the League must be represented at these meetings. 8. Both teams should be at the venue ready to start the match at 8.30pm. Failure to comply with this request could result in games being claimed at 15-minute intervals, starting at 8.45 pm. and the whole match being claimed at 9.30 pm, but it is hoped that sportsmanship would prevail. 9. Match format will be 5 Singles games then 2 Doubles games followed by a Captains Cup game. Points will be awarded as follows: ▪1 point for each Singles game won; ▪2 points for each Doubles game won; and ▪2 bonus points for winning 4 or more of the games in the match. 10. Where a team claims a match, or a team does not turn up for a fixture without it having been re-arranged, then a 7-0 win will be awarded and the appropriate points given (see Rule 9). The team that did not turn up will have 5 points deducted (see also Rule 18). 11. The Captain will decide his/her teams' order of play, with each Captain writing their teams' order of play on a separate sheet of paper before transferring them onto the match card. After all games have been played, the captains of both teams must sign the card before it is sent to the Secretary (see Rule 4). All players' full Christian and Surname must be entered onto the match card, no nicknames please. 12. Anyone that plays a game for any team can not stop playing for that team and play for another team in the same season, even if the other team is from the same establishment, except when the team they played for withdraws from the League before the end of the season. 13. Home teams to supply a Referee for the first game, away team the second , and so on. The 'Lag' described in the Palying Rules will be used to decide which player breaks-off for the first game only, with the break-off alternating for each game thereafter. The Referee has the authority to warn players for slow play and even award a foul for persistent slow play. The Referee's decision is FINAL. 14. If a team drops out of the League once it has started, any points won against them will be deducted and all future fixtures against them will be a BYE game. 15. Once a team has registered 15 players, and they need to register any more, the Captain of that team must first telephone the Secretary to de-register a player/players and give the new player/players' name (s) before the match commences. All registered players must be 14 years of age or over. Landlords must be informed if any players are under 18 years of age and Captains must nominate a responsible adult for that person. 16. Each team must have at least 3 players at the venue before a match may begin. If a team is short, the first registered player to turn up must then fill the unfilled positions, or, new players may be registered (see Rule 15). 17. If a League match is postponed, it must be played before the following Thursday, i.e. one week later than when the game should have been played. If any difficulties are encountered in arranging this, the Secretary must be informed who will then give a date for the match to be played on. No match may be postponed with less than 48 hours notice unless in exceptional circumstances. 18. Teams not fulfilling a fixture with no warning of cancellation, will be given a warning by the Chairman or Secretary. On a second occasion of not fulfilling a fixture in the same season, the offending team will be eliminated from the League and Rule 14 will apply. Application to re-join the League the following year will then be as a new team. 19. If a team is forced to change home venues because the pub/club they played for has closed, they will keep their place in their respective Division when they start playing from a new venue in a new season providing the original establishment remains closed.
